Rep. John Conyers Jr. (D-MI) was undeterred by the parlimentary maneuvers. Conyers and 51 other House members filed a Freedom of Information Act request for documents related to the Downing Street Memo. The White House, Pentagon and State Department have 20 days to respond.
The Veterans for Peace launched a petition drive for the
impeachment of President Bush. Support for impeachment is growing, according to the latest polls.
Pundits reacted to the news from across the pond that British Prime Minister Tony Blair attempted to sidestep a question about the Downing Street Memo in the House of Commons, and confirmed its existence in the process.
