Graham Amendment on Detainees

Indefinate Detention of Detainees!
fatcat politicsSenator Graham of South Carolina is planning to introduce an amendment to the defense appropriations bill that would strip the federal courts of jurisdiction and prohibit them from even hearing arguments against indefinite detention not only from Guantanamo detainees, but from anyone who has the misfortune of finding themselves at any U.S.-run facility anywhere. Even within the United States Do not let this happen! STOP THIS ASSAULT ON THE CONSTITUTION: WRITE YOUR SENATORS NOW.   - fc

Stop Graham Amendment

I join the Center for Constitutional Rights in urging you to reject Senator Graham's ill-advised amendment to the defense authorization bill limiting the right of habeas corpus and instead to permit the courts to complete the judicial inquiry that the Supreme Court mandated and Senator Graham proposes to abort. Unreviewable, unfettered Executive power jeopardizes our free and democratic society. Creating "no law zones" of unreviewable Executive power at Guantánamo and elsewhere undermines the moral standing of the United States in eyes of the world and endangers the lives of U.S. soldiers abroad. Please join me in stopping the Graham Amendment.

Anti War Politics - The 21st Century Peace Movement

30,000 weblogs. One Day. One Voice.
When the list reaches 30,000, a date and a word will be listed on the page. On that date, every weblog on the list agrees to make a single post with the word as the title. The content of the post should be about what you want for the world, whatever that may be. The purpose is not to make a particular political statement, but simply to make a noise. If 30,000 weblogs all post the same unusual word, it WILL be heard.
  • Send an email to brian@bravehumans.com with the subject: Yop!
